Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2020. - Liechtenstein stamps that are quite rare in your hands

"Due to the corona crisis, the Summer Olympics, which would have been held in Tokyo from 24 July to 9 August 2020, have been postponed for one year and will now take place from 23 July to 8 August 2021 under the title "Tokyo 2020" – something that has never happened before in the long history of the Olympic Games. Since this decision was taken only after all our products had gone to press, we are unfortunately no longer able to stop issuing stamps for the 2020 Summer Olympics. This means that the stamps will nevertheless be issued on 2 June 2020 as announced.

For this reason, you will be holding stamps that are quite rare in your hands on 2 June 2020. Stamps in your collection with the date on which the Olympic Games never took place will always remind you later of the memorable year 2020, when a worldwide pandemic went down in history."

Mitovi i flora 2020. - Božica Vesna i maslačak / HP Mostar /Myths and flora 2020 - Goddess Vesna and the dandelion

Vesna is the Slavic goddess of spring and youth, who brings spring joy after a cold winter. She has power over the warmth of the sun that renews nature, in which everything grows and blooms in spring. The earth opens and a living connection is established between the flora and the underworld, where plant treasures and wealth are hidden. Vesna reconciles the heart and the mind, and improves health which was impaired during the winter. With the arrival of spring, people become good and gentle, nurturing respect and friendship for one another. In honour of goddess Vesna, girls used to dress in clothes of grass and flowers. Her flower is the dandelion, and her bird is the swallow.

The dandelion (Taraxacum) is an herbaceous perennial from the daisy family. It has serrated leaves in a basal rosette, from which a stem with a yellow flower head emerges. After flowering, the seed appears in the form of an aerial ball with numerous seeds. It grows in meadows, along roads, in parks and gardens. All parts of the dandelion (root, flowering plant and flower) are medicinal, and its healing properties depend on the season. Young dandelion leaves are used to prepare salad, and honey-like syrup is prepared from the flowers.

Croatian Post Mostar has issued a commemorative postage stamp in a block of 1 stamp, a postmark and first day cover (FDC).

Hrvatska pošta / EUROPA Stare poštanske rute - EUROPA Old postal routes

Old postal routes - the old road Majstorska Cesta Trusted and timely news have always been an important factor in the initiation and development of all the important processes in human society. The prerequisite for any organized transfer of news is existence of good, passable roads, which is why the history of old postal routes in Croatia corresponds largely with the history of old Croatian roads. It was during the mighty Roman Empire, which was famous for its system of well-organized and well-maintained roads, that the territory of modern-day Croatia got its first good-quality roads. Roads that passed along the valleys surrounding the rivers Drava and Sava in the then-province of Pannonia, as well as those that stretched along the Adriatic coast in the province of Dalmatia, were traversed by a courier service called cursus publicus... more on post.hr

HP MOSTAR Arheološko blago 2020.-Radimlja / Archaeological treasure 2020.-Radimlja

Most of them are in crest form as well as in “sljemenjak” form (similar to a sarcophagus), while 63 stećak tombstones are decorated. The motifs are arcades and male figures with raised hands, crosses and stylized crosses, bent vines with a trefoil, shields with a sword, also scenes of hunting, dancing, duelling and other ornaments or figural scenes. Inscriptions in the Croatian Cyrillic or the Bosančica (Bosnian Cyrillic) indicate that the necropolis belonged to the noble family of Hraben – Miloradović. Also, three stone carvers Miogost, Bolašin Bogavčić and Ratko Brativoić carved their names. In the immediate vicinity of the necropolis is a large number of Illyrian tumuli, which indicates the continuity of burial and the continuation of the burial tradition along the old graves. The necropolis is intersected by a road built during the Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is estimated that some 20 monuments were destroyed by this road construction.
Croatian Post Mostar has issued a definitive postage stamp in a sheet of 20 stamps, a postmark and first day cover (FDC).

HP Mostar / Dan sporta 2020. - Judo - Day of Sport 2020.

Sport greatly contributes to the promotion of respect and tolerance, especially among young people. The United Nations General Assembly declared 06 April as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. Its popularity and the positive values it promotes, confirm the importance of sport in society’s progress, with great impact the development of human rights, and the social and economic progress.
Judo is a martial art form for women and men, founded in 1882 in Japan by Jigoro Kano, as a modern extension of an ancient Japanese martial art. Competitors are classified into weight categories, compete dressed in a kimono or judogi, barefoot and carrying a belt in the colour which indicates affiliation to a particular group. The aim of the fight, which is carried out on a square-shaped mat, is to throw the opponent on his back or his side, while using approved interventions.
The benefits of judo have been recognised in the field of child and youth development, which is why this sport has been introduced into the school program in some countries. It enables proper psychophysical development due to its influence on a whole range of traits and abilities. Judo is special because anyone can do it – girls and boys, older people, top athletes and amateur athletes, independent of their abilities and physical constitution.

HP Mostar - EUROPA 2020. Drevne poštanske rute / EUROPA 2020. Ancient postal routes

The postage stamp “Europe 2020" is published under the auspices of PostEurope and has one common theme for all members every year - for 2020 the theme is "Ancient Postal Routes". Roman legions were linked to Rome by roads on which the first postal service was carried out. The Roman Messenger Service, initially called vehiculatio later cursus publicus, was founded by Emperor Augustus between 27 and 20 BC. It was initially limited to civilian and military civil servants. Ordinary stations (mansiones) were situated at the main road directions, where passengers could spend the night, as well as stations where horses or other cattle (mutationes) could be substituted. During Emperor Septimius Severus (192 - 211) the cursus publicus was divided into two parts: the fast (cursus velox), which had saddled horses, draft horses, mules and hinnies, and several types of carriages - two or four-wheelers, and the slow (cursus claburalis), which used heavy wagons which could transport up to 500 kg of cargo.

A wagon and a silver coin of the Roman consul L. Saufeius (152 BC) were chosen as motives on the stamps. On the reverse the coin shows Victoria driving a biga, and on the obverse the head of goddess Roma. The coin is located in the Franciscan museum of the Monastery of Saint Anthony in Humac, an area through which the very significant military road Salona (Solin) – Bigeste (Ljubuški) – Narona (Vid) has passed since the first century.
